Bowers House Receives Severe Damage In Fire

At 6:18 a.m., on Friday, August 7, a fire was reported at the Bowers House, located at 433 N. Mill St.

Four Nashville Volunteer Fire Department units responded with 22 men, spending three hours at the scene. The Hoyleton and Addieville Fire Departments also responded to the fire with two units each and 11 and eight men each, respectively.

The Nashville Fire Department’s report stated that the cause of the fire was believed to be electrical and it was under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.

There was major fire damage to three rooms on the main floor of the house. There was extensive heat and smoke damage throughout the rest of the house.

During the fire or the ensuing commotion, owner Jill Bowers’ two cats, one all black, the other a siamese, escaped from the house. If anyone finds the cats, please bring them to the Nashville Animal Shelter or either of the veterinarians’ offices, they all are on the lookout for the cats.
