Campground At State Lake

The Little Bear Campground at Washington County State has been spruced up thanks to the efforts of Eagle Scout-candidate Boy Scout and NCHS senior William Wyciskalla of Nashville, who installed a flagpole, benches and a basketball hoop there for the use of visitors as part of his Eagle Scout service project.

Wyciskalla said that he inherited the project from another scout who was going to place a flagpole at the site and never was able to do it.

“They wanted a flagpole out here because there are multiple groups and other scouts who have flag ceremonies and have to go out to the flagpole at the park’s main office to do so,” Wyciskalla said. When he originally presented his project to council leadership, they asked him to add to it, so he decided to install the benches and basketball hoop as well.
