Hornets Run Wild As Defense Stifles The Indians

The Nashville Hornets kicked off their 2015 season this past Friday as they traveled to Carlyle to take on the Indians. The Hornets defense swarmed Carlyle’s offense holding their running game to just 73 yards, and just six in the second half. Nashville’s running game ran wild running the ball over 50 times, putting up 289 yards on the ground led by Hunter Schultze who had a game high 147 yards and a touchdown on 9 carries. Jaris Dahlman added 70 yards on 15 carries while Kyle Schnitker ran for 59 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.

The Hornets got the scoring started scoring a touchdown on their first drive of the game as senior running back Hunter Schultze got into the endzone on a 25-yd run to put the Hornets up 6-0. The Hornets defense created their first turnover of the season as Jaris Dalman recovered a fumble to put the Hornets back in business.
