Boys Golf Loses Two Close Matches

The Nashville High School boys golf team narrowly took the defeat as they took on Harrisburg and Hamilton County at McClensboro Golf Club on September 1. After the top four scores from each team were counted, Nashville and Harrisburg ended up with a tie. The tiebreaker was then the next highest score for each team which gave Harrisburg the match by just three strokes.

Tyler Wall led the way for the Hornets tying for the best score of the day with a 36. He was again followed closely by Riley Edwards with a 37 and Tyler Williamson with a 40. Briley Dahncke rounded out the top four scorers for the Hornets as he shot a 41. The tie-breaking score for the Hornets was Hayden Heggemeir who shot a 45.

The boys golf team was back out on the course on Thursday September 3 when they took on Breese Mater Dei, Belleville West and Okawville at Nashville Municipal Golf Course. Mater Dei took home the top spot in the match as they finished 7 strokes in front of Nashville.

Nashville Senior Tyler Wall finished with the best score of the day as he shot a 36 to lead the Hornets. Wall was followed closely by Riley Edwards, who shot a 40, and Tyler Williamson who shot a 41. The final scorer for Nashville was Briley Dahncke who shot a 45, but they fell just short of Mater Dei.

The next match for the boys golf team will back in action Tuesday September 8 when they take on Breese Central, and look to get revenge on Mater Dei at 3:30 at Bent Oak Golf Course in Breese.
