Work Nearly Done At Piper Gutzler Field
By Michael Brink-Nashville #49 Superintendent
Over the course of the past six months, the business community of Nashville has been working towards purchasing and installing scoreboards on the Nashville #49 middle school baseball and softball fields.
The scoreboards are being placed at the fields in honor and remembrance of Piper Gutzler, who would have been a middle school student this year. Additionally, a sign will be installed on the softball field designating it as “Piper Gutzler Field.”
The district is going to host a dedication ceremony at 4:00 PM on Monday, September 21 (right before the final home baseball and softball games). Members of the Gutzler family will be in attendance and we would like to invite any businesses or individuals who made this dedication possible to attend and be recognized at the ceremony.
On behalf of Nashville #49 and the Gutzler family, we would sincerely like to thank all of the businesses and individuals who donated time and/or resources and made it possible for us to remember Piper in this special way. Additionally, we would like to say a special “thank you” to Kurt Kesel, Ric Jones, and Jason Finke for the many volunteer hours that they put in on this project.
As a reminder to parents, school pictures are scheduled to take place from September 29-October 2. Parents can check the school’s website or call one of the school offices for specific grade level dates.
Nashville #49 would also like to thank the PSO and everyone who participated in the Jr. Hornet 5K Run this past weekend. Despite the cold and rainy weather, we had a great turnout and everyone had a great time. The overall winners were Gavin Love with a time of 20:34 and Sabrina Kollbaum with a time of 22:25. All of the money that was raised from this event will help support the district’s after-school programs.
As a reminder, please remember to visit our web site regularly at www.nashville49.org to get updates and reminders pertaining to Nashville #49. Have a great week!
