Body Recovered From Lake At County Conservation Area

A body was recovered from the lake at the Washington County Conservation area early Tuesday morning, September 29.

Juan Carlo Sanchez Mora, 34, of Radom was pronounced dead at the lake at 7:49 a.m. on Tuesday morning. An autopsy will be performed Wednesday.

At approximately 12:13 a.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a person in the water at the Conservation Area. Also responding were the Nashville Rural Fire Protection District and the Washington County Ambulance Service.

Additional resources were requested and those responding included the Belleville Fire Department Water Rescue Team, the Mascoutah Rural Fire Protection District, the Illinois Department of Conservation Police and the St. Clair County Emergency Management Agency.

Michael S. McIntyre, 49, of East Carondelet, was charged with operating a boat under the influence by Conservation Police.

Further investigation will be conducted by the Illinois Department of Conservation Police.
