Portrait Of Theodore Rueter Donated To Historical Society

Dennis Cook, President of the Washington County Historical Society (WCHS) accepted a donation of a beautiful large antique portrait of Theodore Louis Reuter Wednesday, September 23, at the WCHS Museum.

Reuter was a local resident many years ago and was the grandfather of United States Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun, who was born and raised in Nashville.

Mrs. Joan Lincoln and Mrs. Pataricia Coen, granddaughters of Mr. Reuter, along with family members traveled from Nashville, Tenn., to make the presentation to the Historical Society.

The portrait now hangs in the first floor parlor of the newly renovated museum.
