Roy D. Bazzill, 84 of Nashville, passed away at 6:57 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Washington County Hospital in Nashville. He was born on September 7, 1930 in Monette, Arkansas the son of Ora D and Maggie Jeffrey Bazzill. He married Julia Margaret Durham on October 24, 1969 in St. Louis and she passed away on January 12, 1984.
Also preceding him in death were his parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters and 3 step children.
Left to mourn his passing is a son; Roy Bazzill, Jr. of Nashville, a daughter; Tammy Perkins of Chicago, 3 step sons; Gary Sills of Cahokia, Mark Sills of Pampas, TX and Rick Sills of Bluffton, IN. 2 step daughters; Sandra Rochelle Scott of New Minden, Carla Horak of St. Peters, MO and Brenda Rogers of St. Peters, MO. A brother; Rayborn Bazzill of Starksville, AR and numerous grandchildren.
Roy was a retired security guard with Wells Fargo and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was of the Pentacostal faith and loved to go to church. He enjoyed fishing and watching baseball.
Graveside services were at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2015 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis with military rites by the Missouri Navy Honors Team. There was no visitation. Online expressions of sympathy may be made at www.styningerfuneralhomes.com.
