The fifth annual John Barr Memorial Tournament was held at Nashville Golf Course on September 19. A total of 90 golfers participated in the 3 person scramble format.
In the A Flight, Mike Kemp, John Harris and Freedy Goforth took home first place with a score of 58. Tied for second place was the group of Mike Barr, Jimmy Middleton, and Cole Curry and the group of Jason Finke, Jeff Goforth, and Tom Miller who shot a 59.
In the B flight the winners were the group of Gary Schmale, Sam Schmale and John Schmale, with a score of 67. The tie for second was between the group of Putt (Pat) Wolters, Butch Paszkiewicz, and Lucas Moeller and the group of Charles Braley, Tony Doehring, and Duke Snider. Both groups shot a 68 in the tournament.
In the closest to the pin competition, Andrew Wilson won on the second hole, and Cole Curry won on the fifth hole.
Since the tournament began, a total of $29,000 has been raised. This money was benefitted 36 local families to help with expenses when dealing with the challenges of cancer.
