Ruth Alice Cripe, 85, of Nashville, formerly of Pleasant Mound, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Young Funeral Home. Burial was at Noffsinger Cemetery.
Ruth was born on March 22, 1930 in Nashville, to Charles C. “Bud” and Minnie A (Huge) Hampton. She married Robert E. Cripe on September 18, 1951 in Nashville. He died September 9, 2009.
She is survived by sisters in-law Joyce Wehrle and Carol Bristow, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister Barbara J. Kaufman, three brothers-in-law, Harry Wehrle, Sam Cripe, and Charles Kaufman.
Ruth worked for Illinois Bell Phone Company for 15 years, and at Southwestern Bell in Palm Beach, Fla. while her husband was in the Air Force. She worked for 35 years at The Greenville First National Bank. She and her husband lived in Pleasant Mound for 35 years. She moved to Nashville 5 years ago. She was a lovely, loving person with a devout faith in God.
