Sheriff’s Report

September 29

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Fire Departments, and Washington County EMS responded to Washington County State Lake for a reported drowning.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in rural Okawville to assist the Okawville Police Department. Andrew Markus 18, of Okawville was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful manufacturing/delivery of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

September 30

The Sheriff’s Office reported an abandoned vehicle on St. Rt. 177 west of Okawville.

The Sheriff’s Office arrested Johnathan Hampton, 35 from Mt. Vernon for a Washington County Warrant.

Dale N. Bogenpohl of Ava, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a ditch in rural Ashley. No injuries were reported.

The Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary occurring in rural Oakdale.

The Sheriff’s Office assisted a motorist on St. Rt. 15 near Addieville.

The Sheriff’s Office received a report of harassment by telephone from a resident of Mascoutah.

A Washington County Deputy spoke with a resident of Hoyleton regarding neighborhood trouble.

The Sheriff’s Office took a report of Damage to Property in rural Irvington.

The Sheriff’s Office returned a phone call to a resident of Irvington in reference to telephone harassment.

October 1

The Sheriff’s Office assisted the Nashville Police Department with a welfare check.

Washington County Deputies responded to rural Okawville for a domestic disturbance.

October 2

The Sheriff’s Office reported that Phyllis J. Price, 61 of Tilden struck a vehicle in the back driven by Jeremy W. Butler, 39 of Chester. Phyllis J. Price was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of suspicious activity in Addieville.

October 3

John L. Wells, 22 of Ashley, was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on a Washington County Warrant.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted a motorist assist in rural Nashville.

The Sheriff’s Office received a report of a subject walking on St. Rt. 177 near Hoyleton. A deputy responded to the area but was unable to locate the pedestrian.

The Sheriff’s Office met with a female at the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a child custody issue.
