4-H Junior Nature
There are still a few openings for the 4-H Junior Nature Explorers Club jointly sponsored by the Nashville Public Library, U of I Extension Master Gardeners & Master Naturalists, and a grant from the Illinois 4-H Foundation. Interactive programs will teach observation skills to youth ages 8-18 and offer opportunities to participate in natural environments surrounding us.
Meetings will be held the third Saturday in October, November, January, February, March & April. Locations will vary based on the activity for that meeting.
Interested youth should register through the Nashville Public Library or at the Washington County Extension Office in Nashville. Cost is $7 per person. For more information call 618-327-8881.
Market in Nashville the Third Tuesday Each Month
The Mobile Market will be coming to Nashville the third Tuesday of each month through a partnership between 4-H Youth Hunger Ambassadors and St. Ann Catholic School. The Mobile Market will be in the front parking lot at St. Ann Catholic School in Nashville from 10 a.m. to Noon on October 20.
Some of the items available for free will include fresh produce, dairy, and other perishable foods. Supplies will be available on a first come first served basis until food runs out. Participants should plan to bring boxes, bags, or carts to carry groceries home.
Vouchers for the Mobile Market are currently available from BCMW, the Washington County Health Department or the Washington County U of I Extension Office in Nashville. For more information please call the Washington County Extension Office at 618-327-8881.
