NCHS Counseling Office
Financial Aid Presentation: On Tuesday, November 3, the NCHS Counseling office will host a financial aid presentation for parents and students. Information concerning the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form as well as federal and state grants and loans will be provided. Senior students and parents are encouraged to attend. The presentation will be in the NCHS media center beginning at 6:00 PM.
On-site Admission Day: Murray State University will be at the Four Points Sheraton in Fairview Heights on October 29 from 5-8 PM. If students are interested in applying they should bring their official high school transcript with ACT score and $40 application fee. If requirements are met, students will be admitted on the spot. College Representative Visits at NCHS: Students who are interested in visiting with college representatives should come to the Counseling Office to sign up. Currently scheduled college representative visits:
Southern Illinois University–Edwardsville (SIUE) – October 30

ACT Prep Classes: Listed below are various ACT prep classes being offered in our area to help students prepare for the ACT. Contact Mrs. Luessenheide or Mrs. Maschhoff for more specific information.
* Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) – A three-week prep class begins on October 31. The class is held for three weeks from 9:00 AM-3:30 PM. The cost is $162. Additional book fee is $20.40. To register, call: 618-235-2700, ext. 5393 or 5618
* Kaskaskia College (KC) – A two-session workshop will be held on Saturday, November 14th and 21st at the Trenton Education Center from 8:00 AM – 4: 30 PM. The cost is $99.50 and includes a test prep textbook. For more information call 545-3475.
* Webster University – Three different one day workshops: November 21, January 16, and March 19 from 8:00 AM-2:30 PM. Cost is $50. Register online at: webster.edu/actworkshop
ACT Testing Dates: The next ACT test is December 12. Registration is due by November 6. Additional ACT testing dates for the year are February 6, April 9, and June 11. Registration is typically due 5 weeks before the testing date. Students may register at www.ACTStudent.org. Our high school code is 143-110.
