HoyletonNovember 4, 2015

Patricia Rensing

The Village came alive this past Friday night as our town was filled with Trick or Treaters. Several homes logged 195 to 200 costumed visitors. The Hoyleton Lions hosted their annual Costume Contest and over 90 entries circled the floor for the judges to view and inspect their creativity. Each entrant was afforded a complimentary treat bag from the Lions. Pictures of our winners will appear in next week’s News.

As Zion United Church of Christ in Hoyleton continues the journey through the season after Pentecost, the sermon title for this next Sunday will be: “Polar Opposites.” With the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit and Scripture readings from Ruth 3:1-5; and 4:13-17 as well as Mark 12:38-44, listeners will have an opportunity to ponder the priority(ies) in our lives. Worship Service begins at 10 am. All are invited to attend.

The Women’s Guild will meet at 1:30 on Wednesday afternoon at Barbara Aussieker’s home. All members are encouraged to attend.

Members of Zion UCC will be working at the Local Food Pantry on Saturday morning beginning at 9 am. Members are invited to help with the food distribution.
