Richview

Gerri Philipps 249-6281

I had a little communication problem sending the Richview News file to The Nashville News, last week. What’s that they say – ‘no news is good news’?

I hope you all are enjoying this most beautiful Autumn we are having. The colors are so bright and vibrant, you just want to pull over and take pictures.

It was a beautiful night for the Richview Annual ‘Trunk or Treat’ wiener roast, bonfire and hayride. There was plenty of candy and fun for all. Joyce McCoy, Sheila and Leroy Niederhofer, Josh and Misty Niederhofer, Shelby Edwards, Donna and Dennis Gambill and Bill and Chris Strong decorated their cars and passed out candy to the little ghouls and goblins. Thanks to Dave Newcomb for doing the hayride again this year, you can always count on a Newcomb to get the job done. The kids got a scare out by the cemetery when two monsters, one with a chainsaw, jumped out and made them scream for mercy.

A Russell family dinner was held at RYAN’S Restaurant in Mt Vernon on Saturday, October 24. Those attending were: Dorothy Russell of Mt. Vernon, Les and Margie Russell of Richview, Jim and Becky Russell Bossier and children Tony and Alice of St Louis, Janet and Steve Bigley of Mt Vernon, Lorraine Pitchford and Vera Phelps of Richview, Gene and Betty Russell of Mt Vernon formerly of Richview, Rick Russell and friend Lisa of Richview, Joe and Jeannine Russell Hutchcraft, Roger Besancenez of St. Louis, Gerald and Louise Russell of Mt. Vernon and David Russell of Tamaroa, Don and Nancy Russell of Richview, Gary and Pat Russell Bronson of Centralia, Jeremy and Jacque Hensley and sons, Alex and Easton of Godfrey. Five birthdays were celebrated.

Happy Birthday to Kianna Harris who celebrated her thirteenth birthday two Sundays ago.

The Veteran’s Memorial is coming along nicely at the cemetery. Nancy and Don Russell’s daughter and husband were able to acquire a beautiful bench for the new construction. Memorial Day, 2016, will be a memorable event for sure. Mark your calendars to attend this special Memorial Day observance.

Richview United Methodist Church

The Richview United Methodist Church family will be preparing another ‘Thanksgiving Feast’ for the Richview Community on Saturday, November 14, at 2. The church members will be preparing their best dishes just for your enjoyment.

The time for ‘Wednesday Night Bible Study’ has been changed to start at 6.

Hanging of the Greens will be Sunday evening, November 22, at 6. Pastor Dennis will be providing the pizza, yeah.
