District 49 Call Home
So far this year we have earned over $1700 with BoxTops for Education! Keep on Clipping!!
The food drive sponsored by our Student Council continues this week. Students are encouraged to bring in canned goods and non-perishable food items. Items can be dropped off in the boxes in the foyer. All items collected will be donated to the local BCMW.
The PSO has received requests to re-opened the online store to allow for spiritwear re-orders! If you missed out the first time, please visit the site at https://ngspso.itemorder.com/sale to place an order before Sunday, Nov. 22! Orders should be in before Christmas break!!
The Second – Fourth Grade Gardening Club is Monday, November 9th. Only those students who returned the enrollment paper are able to attend. There will be no phone calls home Monday to confirm if a student is going to attend. If your child does not return the permission slip or other written confirmation of attending, your child will go home as usual on Monday. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Students who are registered to attend Jr. Hornets will be able to go there after their club is over at 4:30.
There will be no school on Wednesday, November 11th in observance of Veteran’s Day.
Friday, November 13th is the mid-term of the second quarter. Progress reports will be coming home with your students.
Family Reading Night is Thursday, November 19th at 7:00pm at the Nashville Public Library, a flyer came home with your student this week. Family Reading Night is sponsored by the Nashville Public Library and our District #49 PSO. This is a free event; all families are welcome to attend – for more information, please call 327-3827.
First grade students are encouraged to eat a tray lunch on Friday, November 20th and dress up like a pilgrim or an Indian. Each first grade student is asked to bring in a food item to share. Volunteers are still needed for this day; we love to have grandparents come and help us this day also! Please contact your teacher if you can help!
The fourth grade will celebrate Thanksgiving throughout the day on Friday, November 20th. They will be making items the Pilgrims and Indians may have worn during the first Thanksgiving.
If you would like to help with these projects, the fun activities begin at 10:30. Around 12:30 fourth grade students will eat down their hallway at long tables as they were on the first Thanksgiving.
Family members are welcome to come and help. If you would like to volunteer please contact your child’s teacher. Each child has volunteered to bring an item for the feast, if you have not seen the sheet for this, please ask your child.
Dental Safari will be held on January 22nd, please return the forms by December 1st if you would like your child to participate.
The Middle School basketball teams, cheerleaders, and dance team members are selling raffle tickets for a "Great Cash Give Away" over the next several months. If you are interested, please contact the middle school office or one of our athletes!
