The Eagle’s Nest changed ownership on Monday, Nov 16. The new owners are Kevin and Peggy Frederking of Glen Carbon. Kevin’s family roots are from here and Okawville. His late Grandmother, Mabel Ledendecker baked pies for the Eagle’s Nest years ago. Tod Boeschen owned the Eagle’s Nest for 30 years and had great food. He is planning to move to Florida. A farewell party was held for Tod last Saturday night. Best wishes to Tod and the Frederkings.
Saturday night, Family and friends attended Jim Lehde and Tiffany Liszewski’s engagement party and to celebrate Tiffany getting her nursing degree. Congratulations!
Our town was celebrating on Saturday night, the Addieville Fire Dept hosted a dinner celebrating 50 years as the Addieville Fire District. Retired firemen were invited along with recognition of 2015 retirement of fireman, Kenny Ostendorf, and Board Members David Aubel and Warren Steinkamp. Also recognized was Lester Segelhorst for having the longest service time of 42 years.
Craig and Carol Phillips of Kansas were out for the weekend to attend Jim and Tiffany’s party.
It was a packed house last Friday night for Gary and Amy Bergmann’s benefit Trivia hosted by the Addieville Area Jaycees. Gary and Amy were in attendance. They are recuperating from an auto accident which happened in mid-September. The Bergmann’s are thankful to God and grateful for all the support of family and friends.
Kenny and Judy Ostendorf attended the Ritter cousins reunion last Sunday at Montelle Winery in Missouri.
Despite the weather forecast last Wednesday, Zion’s Wurst Markt served 682 meals.
I hear that “Annie” the musical production at Nashville High School is very good and the new auditorium seats are wonderful. The musical will play again this weekend, Nov 20, 21, and 22.
