Financial Aid: Students and parents of seniors should start thinking about financial aid for college. Informative websites to check out are: studentportal.isac.org, collegecost.ed.gov, and www.FSAPubs.gov.
Midterm Grades: Midterm grade reports will be mailed to parents on Tuesday, November 17th. If parents need clarification about the information on the grade report, as always, do not hesitate to contact our office or your child’s teacher. Parents can learn a great deal about students and their classes by asking questions. Some questions to consider are:
1. How much of the grade is determined by homework, class participation, quizzes, tests, and projects.
2. If there are assignments missing, is it too late to make up the work?
3. How close are you to a higher / lower letter grade?
4. Do you need extra help?
Please remember that the first quarter and second quarter make up 80% of the students’ semester grade. The semester exam counts as 20%. The end of the quarter is December 22nd.
SICCM (Southern Illinois Collegiate Common Market) Open House: On Friday, December 11th SICCM (Southern Illinois Collegiate Common Market) will be holding their annual open house day.
