The TSJ/ILS traveled to Centralia to compete in the St. Mary's Basketball Tournament. The Titans took on Hoffman, St. Mary's Centralia, and Sandoval in the tournament.
The Titans kicked off the tournament against Hoffman on November 2. The Titans celebrated their first win of the tournament as the won in a blowout 59-13. The Titans were led by Chad Brinkmann with 17 points in the game. Joining Brinkmann in double figures was Mason Meyer with 12 points. Caleb Unverfehrt scored 8 points in the game. Tyler Schill and Boomer Harris each had 6 points in the game. Rounding out the scoring for the Titans was Ethan Bening and Jacob Rowell each with 4 points and Levi Traup with 2 points.
The Titans were back on the court on November 5 taking on the host team St. Mary's Centralia. The game marked the only loss in the tournament for the Titans. The Titans scored just 2 points at halftime, but could not come all the way back in the second half, and dropped the game 40-28. The Titans were led in the game by Brinkmann with 15 points. Harris scored 5 in the game followed by Meyer and Unverfehrt with 4 points.
The Titans played their final game of the tournament on November 6 as they took on Sandoval in the third palce game. The Titans again won easily defeating Sandoval 42-18. The Titans were led by Harris with 16 points. Brinkmann followed with 8 points. Meyer scored 7 in the game, Unverfehrt 6 points, Schill 3 and Ashton McGranahan scored 2 points to round out the scoring.
Chad Brinkmann was named to the All-Tournament team and Mason Meyer was named to the second tournament team.
The Titans were back in action, starting with the Shootout on Monday November 9 hosted by NCHS. The Titans came out with a 10 point win over Ashley. After an even scoring 1st quarter, the Titans pulled away from Ashley, leading by 7 at halftime, winning the game with a score of 43-33.
Leading the scoring for the Titans was Chad Brinkmann scoring 13, followed by Boomer Harris, Mason Meyer, and Caleb Unverfehrt each with 8, Tyler Schill rounding off the scoring with 6.
On Tuesday November 10, the Titans traveled to Pinckneyville to play St. Bruno/Tamaroa. A close game ended with a two point victory for the Titans. Again the scoring was led by Brinkmann with 10, Unverfehrt with 9, Meyer with 6, Harris with 5, Ethan Bening and Schill each with 2.
The Titans will host St. Mary’s Mt.Vernon Monday and then participate in the Christ our Rock Lutheran School 7th grade tourney.
