T–SJ/ILS Girls Basketball Recap

The TSJ/ILS Girls basketball team A-team went undefeated this week taking on St. Marys Mt. Vernon, Trinity Lutheran Centralia, and Ashley. The B-team struggled throughout the week, as they could not come away with a win.

The A-team got the week started against St. Marys Mt. Vernon on November 9. The game was close throughout the first half, as TSJ/ILS jumped out to a five point lead after the first quarter, but St. Marys Mt. Vernon came back to tie the game at halftime. The game stayed close in the third quarter as TSJ/ILS trailed by one point going into the fourth. TSJ/ILS was able to come back in the fourth and win the game by a final score of 37-33.

The Titans were led by Taylor Rapp with 15 points in the game. Delaney Toensing chipped in 10 points in the game, followed by Cayla Krueger with six points. Katie May and Grace Foster each had three points in the game.

The B-team was defeated by St. Marys Mt. Vernon after just two quarters of play 5-15. Megan Rennegarbe scored four points and Halle Rueter scored one point in the game.

The A-team was back in action November 10 as they took on Trinity Lutheran Centralia. TSJ/ILS dominated the game throughout, holding a 14 point lead at halftime. The lead grew after halftime and the Titans cruised to a 53-24 win.

TSJ/ILS were led by Toensing with 19 points in the game. Taylor Rapp joined Toensing in double figures with 14 points. Foster scored nine points in the game, and Katie May chipped in four points. Krueger scored three points in the game, while Hanna Niedbalski and Rennegarbe scored two points in game to round out the scoring.

The B-team again was defeated in a two quarter game 15-19. Katie May, Krueger, and Lauren Rapp each scored four points in the game to lead the team. Lyndsey Kujawa scored two points in the game and Niedbalski scored one point to end the scoring for the B-team.

The last game of the week for the A-team saw TSJ/ILS on the road to face off against Ashley on November 12. The Titans were able to jump out to an early lead outscoring Ashley 11-2 in the first quarter and go onto win the game easily 41-18.

Toensing scored 24 points in the game to lead the Titans, followed by Taylor Rapp with 10 points. Foster added four points in the game followed by Rennegarbe with two points and Katie May with one point.

The B-team played their only four quarter game of the week, losing by a score of 18-30. The B team was led by Rennegarbe with six points in the game. Krueger scored four points in the game and Katie May, Rueter, Kujawa and Lauren Rapp each scored two points.
