City Of Nashville Sets Date For Library Tax Levy Hearing

The Nashville City Council’s first December meeting, held on Thursday, December 3, at 7 p.m., was a short one.

The council announced that there would be a tax levy hearing on Thursday, December 17, at 6:45 p.m., before the beginning of the second council meeting for December regarding the tax levy for the Nashville Public Library.

The council approved a Christmas bonus of $100 worth of Nashville for all city employees, as they have done in previous years. Nashville Dollars can be spent at any Nashville Chamber of Commerce member and are worth the same as their face value.

A bid from R. Henry Habbe to demolish the house and garage at 362 East Lebanon Street, and to remove the debris left over for $5,000 was accepted by the council.

There were 260 residents who recycled 9.3 tons during November.

Road work on North Mill Street, separate from St. Route 127, which was announced at the last November meeting has now been completed.

Work to the water drainage sewer in front of Friendship Manor which was also announced at the last meeting should be complete before the next meeting.
