Junior Leadership

Conference

Have fun while you learn to improve your leadership and teambuilding skills at this year’s Illinois 4-H Junior Leadership Conference. The conference is open to 4-H youth and their friends in 7th and 8th grade.

Wild About Leadership will be held Feb. 27 – 28 at the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham in Champaign. Cost is $135 and covers lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Register by Jan. 25 online at go.illinois.edu/4Hjlc.

Swinging in the Wind: Have a roaring good time teaming up and creating a turbine!

Welcome to the Jungle: Hello there, mate! And welcome to the jungle! The jungle can be a rough and rugged place. Do you have what it takes to survive? Come and learn basic survival skills and then put them to the test when we send you blind into the great jungle.

Taking Care of Monkey Business: Swing into the world of communication and order! In this workshop we will be going bananas over running a meeting with parliamentary procedure. It is time to hunt for success and proceed with adventure!

Opportunities Beyond the Horizon: Waking up to a beautiful sunrise is like growing up in 4-H; once you grasp it, you will never let it go. We will learn more about 4-H opportunities available to make your 4-H experience as phenomenal as it can be.

Going Wild with nutrition: Going wild with nutrition by exploring what kind of ingredients are jungled up in your drinks.

Hunting Hunger to Extinction: Help package meals that can be distributed within your own community, in coordination with Illini Fighting Hunger.

Mobile Market in Nashville

December 15

The Mobile Market will in Nashville again December 15. The Mobile Market will be in the front parking lot at St. Ann Catholic School in Nashville at 10 a.m.

This winter it is important for participants to know that the Mobile Market will be open even if it rains, in case of severe cold weather it will be at the fairgrounds in the Commercial Building. If school is closed on a Mobile Market day, the market will probably be canceled for the day.

Supplies will be available on a first come first served basis. Participants bring boxes, bags, or carts to carry groceries home. For more information please call the Extension Office at 618-327-8881.
