Paul Welte, CENTER, the electronics instructor at Nashville Communtiy High School was presented with a $500 grant check from Bruce Barkau and Brad Austin, Directors of Member Services at Tri-County Electric Cooperative. Welte wrote for and received a $500 grant to help build an LED display, like a larger version of the one shown behind them in the photo, which Welte hopes will one day become NCHS’ marquee. Welte’s students would construct the display with his help, and it would consist of numerous multi-LED panels, controlled by computer and powered by modular power supplies. Welte had received a previous Tri-County grant which he and his students used to build a quadra-copter drone. “He is a very good grant writer,” Barkau said.
