On December 10, four FFA Chapters participated in the 3rd annual “FFA Quiz Bowl” hosted at NCHS and sponsored by the Young Leader Committees from Perry and Washington County Farm Bureaus.
Participating chapters included Nashville, Carlyle, Okawville, and Trico. Each chapter was invited to bring two or three teams of 3-5 students to participate in the event, and a total of forty members competed together.
Each team competed in two preliminary rounds before three teams advanced to the finals. The winning teams were: 1st place- Nashville Team #1, 2nd place – Carlyle Team #1 and third place – Okawville Team #3.
Students were asked multiple choice questions with four possible answers. The students then could buzz in with the correct answer to earn points for their team.
The questions that were asked included subjects such as Agriculture Safety, Agriculture Mechanics, Animal Science, Crop Production, FFA Natural Recourses and Agriculture Issues/Current Events.
The moderator for the evening was Jeff Jacobs.
In between pizza, snacks and drinks, members had the opportunity to become more familiar with the Farm Bureau and their respective Young Leader Committee members. Students and advisors also received a t-shirt for participating in the event.
