Jean Tomaszewski of Okawville, departed this life at her residence on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at 12:20 P.M. following a sudden illness. She had attained the age of 66 years and 18 days.
Jean was born in East St. Louis, on December 2, 1949 the daughter of Charles and Eva Masterson.
She worked as a waitress in numerous restaurants in the area over the years, including Girolamo’s in Nashville, until her retirement.
Jean was a fun loving person and she enjoyed spending time with her friends. Her laugh was contagious. She had a wicked sense of humor and loved pulling practical jokes.
Left to mourn her passing are her five children, Portlyn and his companion Keri of Granite City; Wayne Jr. and wife Sara of Columbia, Mo., Stacy of Fort Collins, Co., Barry of Okawville and Shawn of Payola, Kan.; and four grandchildren, She is also survived by her long-time companion, Ron, as well as many friends and family including her children’s fathers, Glen Roberts and Wayne Tomaszewski Sr.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Masterson.
Memorial services were held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Okawville on Monday, December 28, 2015, with Pastor Jeffrey Schwab officiating. Interment of ashes was at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Belleville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family of Jean Tomaszewski and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
