Washington County Hospital is hosting a CPR Training class open to the public. The class will be held on Monday, January 25 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Instructing the class is WCH Respiratory Care Practitioner and American Heart Association Certified CPR Instructor Joanie Dalman.

“I feel it’s very important for everyone to know,” Dalman said.

Dalman said that there have been new developments in what is considered best-practice for CPR, so even those with some first aid training could learn something.

“The American Heart Association suggests that you renew it every two years,” Dalman said. “They have made changes.”

“Anyone can come, any age group,” said WCH Marketing Director Susan Lingle.

“We do adult pediatric and infant CPR,” Dalman said, “we also do foreign body airway obstruction– for choking victims.”

There is a $20 fee per participant.

The CPR Class will be located in the conference rooms in the lower level of the hospital. Please reserve your spot by calling 618-327-2220 before January 22.
