Betty L. Zgonina, 72, of Du Bois, passed away at 7:59 A.M., Monday, January 18, 2016 at the SSM Health St. Maryís Centralia.

Betty had been a cook at Emlingís Cafe in Du Quoin, Travelers, Du Bois Church Camp, Ashley Grade School and the Washington County Lake Conservation District.

She was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom.

She was born November 3, 1943 at Radom, IL the daughter of Frank and Catherine (Ledwig) Janowski.

Betty married James Zgonina on August 17, 1961 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom and he survives.

She is survived by her husband of Du Bois, daughter- Angela Zgonina of Nashville, son- Matthew J. Zgonina of Ashley, grandchildren- Molly Rae Zgonina, Cody Clemens and Aaron Dunn and wife Theressa, great grandchildren- Merytt Zgonina and Eliza Dunn, and brother- Jerry Janowski of Nashville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Jo Ann Jankowski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom with Fr. John Iffert officiating.

Friends may call from 9 A.M. until time of service Thursday at the St. Michael Catholic Church.

Burial will be in the St. Michael Cemetery at Radom.

Friends may make memorials to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
