June E. Arians (Hake), 71, of Oregon, Ill.,died suddenly at KSB Hospital, Dixon, on Saturday November 28, 2015.
She was born on Feb. 9, 1944 in Centralia, the daughter of Arthur G. and Sophie (Wellpott) Hake of Hoyleton. She married Michael Arians in Hoyleton, on December 29, 1990. June graduated from SIU- Carbondale in 1967 and later received her Master’s in Education from Northwestern University. She was a Teacher/Reading Specialist for various schools in the Chicago area until her retirement. Recently, she was co-owner of The Road House Restaurant in Oregon. June had a love of animals, especially cats. They traveled with her whenever she visited Southern Illinois. June had a quick wit, sharp tongue and infectious laugh that endeared her to everyone she knew.
Survivors include nephew, Mark Hake of Hoyleton; Beth Ann Hake of Centralia; sister-in-law, Imogene M. Schnake of Irvington; Michael and his daughter, Amy (Matthew) Marquis of Chelsea, Mich.; grandchildren, Bradley, Emily, Ava, and Caleb; and longtime special friend, Marge Craig of Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her brother, G. Donald Hake and her parents.
A service was held in Oregon, Ill., on December 7, 2015. According to her wishes, her remains will be cremated. A memorial celebration will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Zion United Church of Christ, Hoyleton, from 2 pm to 4 pm.
