Walter J. “Wally” Annis, Jr.
Walter J. “Wally” Annis, Jr., age 64, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 12:28 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital Emergency Room, Pinckneyville.
Wally was born on May 21, 1951 in St. Louis, a son to Walter J. and Florentine (Nehring) Annis, Sr. On October 17, 1992, he married Lyndia Goolsby in Gatlinburg, Tenn., and she survives. Wally was of the Catholic faith, was a Shriner and worked at Innertech Nashville, where he was a line worker and in maintenance for 19 years. Wally loved music, was an accomplished accordion player and enjoyed playing with his band,” Wally Annis All Variety Band” and played in the St. Louis area often.
Survivors include his wife, Lyndia Annis of Pinckneyville; mother, Florentine Annis of St. Louis; three sons, Gregory (Katie) Annis of Hillsboro, Mo., Matthew Annis of St. Louis, and Ronnie (Paige) Angleton of St. Louis; two daughters, Christina Annis of Belleville, and Rhonda (Michael) Tilley of Hackettstown, N.J.; nine grandchildren; and two brothers, Jerry Annis of O’Fallon, Mo. and Mike Annis of Affton, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Gary Gummersheimer officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Cemetery, Todds Mill.
Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Perry County Humane Society, DuQuoin, or give a homeless pet a forever home in memory of Wally.
