Douglas N. Fellwock

Mr. Douglas Fellwock of Okawville departed this life in the extended care unit of the Washington County Hospital in Nashville, on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 11:10 P.M. He had attained the age of 71 years, 10 months and 25 days.

Douglas was born in Centralia on February 28, 1944, the son of Oliver and Betty (nee Morris) Fellwock. He was united in marriage to Fern Weihe on July 11, 2003 in Nashville and she survives his passing.

Douglas was a former member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Evansville, Ind., where he also attended Our Redeemer Lutheran Grade School. He was a 1962 graduate of Bosse High School in Evansville and graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Mr. Fellwock worked as an engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation for 34 years until his retirement in 2000. Doug was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and he enjoyed shooting. He also collected 12 scale model cars and enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. He also loved to watch Westerns and war movies and his all-time favorite television show was Gunsmoke.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife, Fern Weihe-Fellwock of Okawville; three children and several grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Rita Crisel of Okawville; two aunts and an uncle; special family friend, Hadley Fricke of Addieville; numerous nieces and nephews as well as Fern’s family and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step father, Louis Brown; and a half brother, Michael Brown.

Funeral services were held from the Campagna Funeral Home in Okawville on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 2 P.M. with Pastor Jeffrey Schwab officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Okawville.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Okawville Senior Center or to the Extended Care unit of the Washington County Hospital and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
