WCH CEO Nancy Newby Elected To Illinois Health And Hospital Association Board
Nancy Newby, CEO of Washington County Hospital and Medical Group, Nashville has been elected to the 2016 Illinois Health and Hospital Association’s (IHA) Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees is the policymaking body for the Association, which represents more than 200 hospitals and nearly 50 health systems across Illinois.
Newby, who has 46 years of hospital nursing and administration experience, has been active on the IHA Board since 2003. She most recently served on IHA’s Executive Committee, the Small and Rural Models Work Group of the Transforming Illinois Health Care Task Force, Small and Rural Legislative Committee, and The Institute for Innovations in Care and Quality Advisory Board.
This American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) fellow is a past Chair of the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN); Board member of the American Cancer Society of Southern Illinois and serves on the Washington County Relay for Life committee and Nashville Chamber of Commerce. Newby holds a master’s degree in nursing from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a doctorate degree in nursing from Saint Louis University.
The Illinois Health and Hospital Association is now officially in operation as an integrated, statewide organization. The former Illinois Hospital Association and former Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council recently completed their combination agreement, bringing together a combined 174 years of service to Illinois hospitals and health systems and capping a nearly 18-month due diligence and implementation process.
