Mrs. Bernice Schneider of Covington, departed this life in the Countryside Manor at Aviston, on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 2:03 A.M. She had attained the age of 92 years, 8 months and 14 days.

Bernice was born in Covington on May 16, 1923 the daughter of Theodore and Ida (nee Borgeding) Pries. She was united in marriage to William H. Schneider on September 28, 1946 in the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Covington and he preceded her in death on December 21, 2009.

Mrs. Schneider was a cook at the Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Nashville, IL for 25 years until her retirement. She was a lifelong and faithful member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church where she was a former member of the Ladies Aid. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan.

Left to mourn her passing is her three children, William G. Schneider and Robert Schneider and wife Diane all of Covington and Nancy Sprehe and husband Dean of New Minden; four grandchildren, Tracy Kottmeyer and husband Matthew, Matthew Schneider and wife Adria, Jill Stein and husband Jonas and Tyler Sprehe and wife Courtney; two great grandchildren, Breck Schneider and Beckett Stein; one brother, Clarence Pries and wife Eunice of Covington; one sister, Mildred Kuhlman of Campbell Hill; nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Leona Middendorf

Funeral Services were held from the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Covington on Saturday, February 6, 2016 with Pastor Timothy Mueller officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the St. Luke Lutheran Church Building Fund and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
