Lady Titans Earn Second Place In Trinity Lutheran Springfield Tournament

The TSJ-ILS Lady Titans played in the Trinity Lutheran Springfield Tournament the weekend of February 12-14. The tourney began on Friday night with the Titans defeating Trinity Springfield with a final score of 44-20. The Lady Titans were led by Delaney Toensing with 24 points in the game, followed by Taylor Rapp with 11, Grace Foster 8 and Megan Rennegarbe 1.

The first Saturday game was against Trinity Edwardsville with the Lady Titans wrapping up another win with a final score of 26-20. Team members scoring in that game were Katie May with 9 points along with Taylor Rapp 7, Grace Foster and Delaney Toensing each with 4, and Megan Rennegarbe 2.

Their second Saturday game was against Our Savior Lutheran, Springfield ending with another win. The final score was 30-24 and gave the Lady Titans a ticket to the championship game on Sunday. Scoring for the Titans were Delaney Toensing and Taylor Rapp in double digits with 10 each, Katie May 6, Grace Foster and Megan Rennegarbe 2.

The Sunday Championship game was against the undefeated and Iowa Lutheran State Champion team, Trinity Lutheran from Cedar Rapids. The Lady Titans fell short in this game with a final score of 28-15. Scoring for the Lady Titans were Delaney Toensing 7, Taylor Rapp 5, Grace Foster 2, and Katie May 1.

Delaney Toensing and Taylor Rapp were named to the All-Tournament team.

The Lady Titans will be competing this weekend, March 4-6, at the Illinois Lutheran State Tournament in Chicago.
