The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association has named Tierney Moore, Nashville Middle School girls’ basketball head coach, as Coach of the Year for District #20. Coach Moore has a winning record at Nashville Middle School, coaching the girls to 59 wins and 12 losses. The Jr. Hornettes finished the 2015-2016 season with 23 wins and 5 losses, with a Conference record of 12-0. They placed first in the Junior Southwestern Egyptian Conference. The girls won the Regional Championship at Nashville and ended the year with a third place finish in the SIJHSAA State Tournament. The Jr. Hornettes have won the Junior Southwestern Egyptian Conference 9 of the last 10 years.
Coach Moore will be honored at Illinois State University on April 30th, at which time she will be presented with her Coach of the Year award to recognize her outstanding accomplishments. Coach Moore lives in Nashville with her husband Tyson.
