Titans Earn Second In Springfield Tournament
This past weekend the Titans traveled north to Springfield, IL to play in the Greater Springfield Lutheran Athletic Association, Fourty-Fifth Annual boys basketball tournament.
Saturday morning the Titans started with a win over Trinity Springfield 37-32. Leading the way in scoring for the Titans was Boomer Harris 13, Chad Brinkmann 12, Mason Meyer 8, Tyler Schill and Caleb Unverfehrt each chipping in 2.
Saturday afternoon the Titans were successful again with a victory over Salem Lutheran from Jacksonville. The Titans came out strong and never looked back outscoring the Cyclones 41-18. After the game, the coaches were very pleased with the way the boys played and executed the plays.
Scoring for the Titans were; Harris & Unverfehrt each with 11, Brinkmann 10, Meyer 6 and Schill 3.
The championship game on Sunday was a challenge for the Titans, playing Our Savior, Springfield at their home gym. The Titans were unable to overcome the 5th ranked team in the LSA tournament, and were outscored 49-17. Brinkmann, lead the Titans in scoring with 8, followed by Unverfehrt 4, Harris 3 and Meyer 2.
The Titans will finish their season this weekend in Chicago at the Lutheran Sports Association State Basketball tournament.
