Some people, no matter how old they get, never lose their beauty – they merely move it from their faces into their hearts.
Friday morning, Stanley and Ora Mae Droege motored to Bloomington where they met Howard and Cindy McHenry. They attended the IHSA Girls Class 1A/2A Basketball State Finals at Illinois State University at Redbird Arena/Normal. Winners were Class 1A – 1st place to Hardin Calhoun, 2nd place to Moweaqua(Central A and M), 3rd place to Shabbona(Indian Creek), 4th place to Seton Academy. Class 2A – 1st place to Byron, 2nd place to Teutopolis, 3rd place to Camp Point(Central), 4th place to St. Joseph. Driving by Miller Park Lake on Saturday, Cindy and Ora Mae noticed people in the lake. Turns out it was the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics of Illinois raising more than $95,000. The Bloomington Polar Plunge is the largest event in Illinois. Saturday evening they also celebrated the February birthdays of Stanley and Howard. They returned to their homes on Sunday having experienced beautiful weather.

Steve and David Droege attended the St Louis Blues and New York Rangers Hockey game at Scottrade Center Thursday evening.
It is easier to cut marshmallows when they are frozen or at least very cold.
Some are residents attended the Okawville American Legion Wurst Markt Sunday at the Legion Home.
A Swiss tradition, if a man loses a piece of bread in the fondue pot, he must buy the table a bottle of wine. If a woman does it, she must kiss the man next to her. (Maybe this accounts for fondue’s popularity in the ‘70s)
Patrons enjoyed a squirrel fry at Seg’s Place in Venedy Sunday Afternoon.
