The Sheriff’s Office assisted the Okawville Fire Department with a reported vehicle fire on I64.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office returned a phone call to a business owner in Hoyleton in reference to suspicious activity.

The Sheriff’s Office returned a phone call to a resident of Ashley in reference to Illegal Dumping.

The Sheriff’s Office spoke with a resident of rural Centralia in reference to ATV’s trespassing on their property.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office took a report of Identity Theft from a resident of Hoyleton.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address in Hoyleton reference a reported theft.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a one vehicle crash on Interstate 64. Michael Steinmann, 63, of Centralia lost control of his vehicle and struck a ditch. The vehicle was towed from the scene and no injuries were reported.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office returned a phone call to a resident in Venedy over dogs running at large.

February 24

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle off the roadway on Texas Road just south of State Route 15. A vehicle driven Andrew P. Hiedel, 18, of Nashville, IL lost control of his vehicle causing it to exit the roadway and enter into a field. No injuries were reported.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of State Route 127 and Enterprise Ave. A vehicle driven by Amanda J. Basso, 44 of Texico, Ill.. lost control of her vehicle, causing it to strike the rear-end of a vehicle driven by Stacie L. Barnett, 45 of Hoyleton. Minor injuries were reported.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office took a report of disorderly conduct in Hoyleton, Illinois.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office assisted a motorist on Huron Street in Irvington, IL.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one vehicle accident occurring on US Highway 51 at Yard Road. A vehicle driven by Shawn S. Diehl, 39, of Centralia, Illinois was traveling south-bound on US Highway 51 when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to the slick road conditions. The vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck an embankment. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was driven from the scene.

February 23

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Hoyleton reference a theft report. Dawn R. Brooks (45) of Hoyleton, reported a four-wheeler winch line and tow hitch ball stolen at unknown time.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to rural Richview for a Welfare Check.

Jamie A. Peters, 35 of Centralia, was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for driving while license suspended, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Washington County Sheriff’s office assisted DCFS with an investigation in Wamac.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two vehicle accident on Sunflower Road west of Tulip Avenue. Unit 1 driver Marlin D. Albert, 80 of New Athens, was backing up to the east, when he backed into Unit 2 driven by Andrew R. Lintker, 84 of Addieville. There were no injuries and only minor damage to Unit 2. Both vehicle drove away from the scene.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on I-64 at US 51. The driver, Jason W. James, 43, of Centralia, was issued a citation for speeding and was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Hypodermic Syringes. The passenger, Nicole D. James, 38, of Centralia, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Obstructing Justice, and Unlawful Possession of Hypodermic Syringes.
