Letter: Shimkus An Example Of Frustrating Government

Shimkus An Example Of Frustrating Government

Dear Editor,

I am extremely frustrated with our government and the lack of actions by our elected officials. John Shimkus is a perfect example, as he broke his term limits pledge, has failed to aggressively attack the misspending of our tax monies, and, while paying lip-service to any one meeting with him, he is very complacent and basically a do nothing member of congress enjoying the daily benefits of his position.

If you believe, as I do, that government belongs to the people and that we need to elect a citizen-legislator to Congress, it is time for a change. I am voting for Kyle McCarter for Congress for the 15th Congressional District. Kyle is a small business employer, where he has employed numerous individuals. While he is a current Illinois State Senator, he is showing his support for term limits and to illustrate he is not a career government employee, like Shimkus, by committing NOT to seek re-election to the Illinois Senate and has already signed the U.S. Term Limits pledge. This strongly shows a true commitment to the most urgent and basic change we need to improve government, term limits. In regard to this matter Shimkus has not kept his promise to us for over ten (10) years and that is a perfect example of why he cannot be trusted.

Kyle McCarter has been a principled conservative as a State Senator, where he has earned our trust. Please join with me on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, during the Republican Primary, and vote to return our U.S. Representative position to the people and to a man, Kyle McCarter, you can trust! Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

William Barrett
