Metcalf Promoted To Corporal

David Metcalf has been meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal in the United States Marine Corps.

He joined the Marines in May of 2013 and reported to San Diego for 13 weeks of basic training, after a short leave, he completed the 4 week course of Individual Combat Training and then reported to Fort Lee, Virginia for training as an Electro Optical Munitions’ Tech. Once this training was completed, he was assigned to 2nd Battalion 6th Marines at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

He deployed on the U.S.S. Arlington in Oct of last year as part of a Marine Expeditionary Unit in the Middle East area. His travels have included visits to Jerusalem, Jordon and other locates. He is expected to return to the states in April or May and is the slated keynote speaker at the Memorial Day ceremonies in Nashville on May 30th if schedules allow.

David is the son of J.W. and Diane Metcalf. He graduated Nashville High in 2006, Kaskaskia College in 2008 and St. Louis Christian College in 2011.
