The Nashville High School math team competed in the ICTM (Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics) Regionals Contest.
The ICTM Regionals Competition is a math contest held once a year that has mathematical savvy students from all over the state compete with each other by solving very challenging and complex math problems.
These students compete at various college campuses while at the same time getting a taste of college life. Here is how they did.
The Nashville High School Math Team placed 3rd overall in the 2A division at the ICTM Regionals Competition at SIUE.
Andrew Kuhl placed 2nd in Geometry, Tyler Williamson placed 1st in Algebra 2. Luke Cox placed 3rd in Pre-Calculus. John Schroeder and William Wychiskalla placed 1st in the Oralist event.
The Junior Senior 8-Person and Pre-Calculus Teams placed 1st and the Algebra 2 Team placed 2nd overall.
The members of the those teams are Jill Guetersloh, Andrew Barczewski, Kailee Remer, Logan Geppert, Luke Cox, Quinn Laws, John Schroeder, William Wychiskalla, Lucas Morgan, Jamilyn Martin, Brett Roth, Jessica Clark, Tyler Williamson and Tyler Janke.
The ones who placed first will go on to compete in the Math Team State Competition on May 7.
The members who have for sure qualified for state include: Tyler Williamson, John Schroeder, Jill Guetersloh, Andrew Barczewski, Kailee Remer, Logan Geppert, Luke Cox, Quinn Laws, Lucas Morgan, and Tyler Janke.
