Diamonds Infinity Athletics of Mt Vernon, Illinois, competed in Bloomington, IL at the Champion Spirit Group, Prairie State Challenge on February 20th. Several cheerleaders from the surrounding areas of Wayne, Jefferson, Franklin, Marion, and Washington counties participated in this event with the local Mt Vernon gym. Diamonds went to the meet in hopes of winning a few bids to The One Cheer and Dance Finals and they came home with a bid for each of their competitive teams. As a result of their Junior level 2 Amethyst team winning 1st place in their division and grand champion in their session, as well as best tumbling and best stunts in their entire session, they came came home with a full paid Platinum level bid to The One Cheer and Dance Finals. Diamonds' Tiny level 1 Sparkles team won 1st place in their division as well as an earned Gold level partial paid bid. Two second place Silver level partial paid bids were won by DIA's mini level 1 Dazzle and Senior level 3 Black Diamond teams. All 4 teams won a combined total of $3,325.00 in bid earnings to take with them to finals. The One has several different locations to choose from including Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania; Orlando, Florida; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Chicago, Illinois. Diamonds have chosen Chicago as their place to take the floor for finals in April. This is Diamonds Infinity Athletics' second year of business and first time winning a paid bid of any kind. Diamonds Infinity Athletics is owned and operated by Kourtnie Rightnowar and also coached by well known choreographer Coach Taylor Holland and 2 time Worlds finalist Coach Bryant Burleyson. Diamonds is so excited for this opportunity for their growing gym and is looking forward to many more bigger and better opportunities as the cheer seasons continue through the years.
