NCHS Athletes Compete At Murphysboro Power Meet

This past Saturday athletes from Nashville Community High School competed in the Murphysboro Power Meet. The meet consists of three lifts, Bench Press, Dead-lift, and Squat. Each participant is given three attempts at each lift.

Nashville had 9 total competitors, 4 won individual medals. Competing for Nashville was Emily Harper, Bryce Paszkiewicz, Nick Paszkiewicz, Cameron Wilson, Kendall Dodson, Rhys Biagi, Kyler Klingenberg, Dylan Kwiathowski, Ethan Herzog, and Brendyn Kelly.

The four individuals winning medals were, on the boys side, Nick Paszkiewicz, 3rd place, in the 123 pound weight class, Bryce Paszkiewicz, 1st place, in the 132 pound weight class, and Cameron Wilson, 2nd place, in the 165 pound weight class. On the girls side Kendall Dodson won 2nd place in the 165 pound weight class.

In JV, Nick Paszkiewicz finished in 2nd place in the 123 pound weight class.

Bryce Paszkiewicz finished the meet by setting 4 meet records in the 132 pound weight class. He set records in squat: 320 pounds, bench: 210 pounds, deadlift: 340 pounds

Bryce also had the second highest performance index score of 7.38. Performance Index is calculated by taking the athletes three total lifts and dividing that score by their body weight.

Total, Nashville athletes lifted 6,870 pounds at the meet.
