NMS Volleyball Splits 6 Matches

The Nashville Middle School Jr. Hornettes Volleyball team has split their last six matchups as they took on Okawville, Pinckneyville, Chester, DuQuoin, Trico, and Murphy. The Jr. Hornettes picked up wins against Pinckneyville, Chester, and Trico.
Nashville ended February with a matchup against Okawville. A closely contested first game, saw Nashville drop the contest 25-21. Okawville was able to take the second game as well, 25-12. Elise Spencer finished with a team-high three aces to go along with one kill in the match. Kinze Fox added two aces along with one kill. Raqui Elliott and Destyn Hausner finished with one kill apiece, while Addi Gale and Sabrina Kollbaum finished with one ace each.
The Jr. Hornettes got back on the winning track as March began, as they defeated Pinckneyville 25-15, 25-23 on March 1. Spencer led Nashville with six aces in the match to go along with one kill. Elliott added four aces to go along with two kills in the matchup. Kollbaum added three aces and one kill. Elley Szopinski and Gale had two kill apiece in the win. Kayla Ivey had one ace in the match.
The Jr. Hornettes were able to win their second straight match as the defeated Chester 25-19, 25-18 on March 3. Elliott finished with a team-high two kills to go along with two aces. Kollbaum also finished with two aces in the matchup. Hausner finished with one kill and one ace. Fox added one ace, while Gale and Spencer notched one kill apiece.
Nashville dropped their first match of March against DuQuoin on March 8. DuQuoin took the match 25-20, 25-19. Elliott finished with a team-high two aces in the match. Gale, Kollbaum, and Szopinski each finished with one ace apiece.
The Jr. Hornettes played in a rare three game match, when they defeated Trico on March 9. Nashville was able to take the first game 25-23, dropped the second game 25-22, and took the last game 15-8. Elliott finished with two kills to go along with one ace. Cook, Kollbaum, Madison Schuette, Gale, and Spencer finished with one ace apiece. Hausner finihsed with one kill.
Nashville dropped their next game 25-11, 25-15 to Murphysboro on March 10. Gale led Nashville with 2 kills in the match, followed by Spencer with one kill. Kollbaum and Hausner had one ace apiece in the loss.
