County administrators from Champaign County and Peoria County will discuss strategies their counties are implementing to make local government more efficient and cost effective. Presenters Deb Busey and Scott Sorrel will discuss collaborative committees; joint ventures; county board restructuring; improved financial reporting systems; and other cost- saving measures local governments can implement now to conserve resources while still providing quality government services.

Scott Sorrel was named the Peoria County Administrator in May 2015. Prior to that, he spent more than 22 years with Peoria County. Sorrel started his career in the Planning and Zoning Department, and has been in the County Administrator's office since 2002.
