2015-16 Girls Basketball All-South Team Announced

The Southern Illinois Coaches Association announced their 2015-16 Girls Basketball All South team for classes 1A-3A. Two Nashville Hornettes, along with one athlete from Okawville made the team.

In Class 1A, Madison Hackstadt from Okawville was honored as a part of the All South team. In Class 2A, Hornettes Mackenzie McFeron and Karly Stanowski were honored. McFeron and Stanowski joined on the Class 2A team by SIRR Mississippi Division rivals, Avery English of Carterville, Elle Basler of Anna-Jonesboro, Sophie Keith of Pinckneyville; and Megan Barrett of Carterville. The coach of the year was Matt Crain from Carterville.

This season the Hornettes finished 19-9 on the season, winning the SIRR Conference Championship. The Hornettes lost in the regional finals to Mater Dei.
