Clarence E. Kabat

Mr. Clarence E. Kabat of Waltonville, departed this life at his residence on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 10:40 AM. He had attained the age of 78 years, 5 months and 15 days.

Mr. Kabat was born on October 17, 1937 in Perry County, the son of Frank and Victoria (Walkowiak) Kabat. He was united in marriage to Bernadine Czerwinski-Tomaszewski on October 4, 1997 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, and she survives his passing.

Clarence was a member of the United States Army. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom. Clarence enjoyed driving trucks, hunting, pinochle and socializing.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife, Bernadine Kabat of Waltonville; a step son, Andy Tomaszewski and his wife Bambi of Ashley; two step-grandchildren, Johnna and Colten Tomaszewski; a nephew and five nieces, Carol Kabat-Self of Summerville, S.C., Danny Kabat of Waltonville, Kathy Conner and husband Jeff of Ashley, IL, Linda Stanfield and husband Larry of Scheller, Angela M. Kabat of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jennifer A. Kabat of Herrin; great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Art Kabat; a sister-in-law, Laverne Kabat and a nephew, Billy Self.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Military graveside rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post #110.

Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials may be made to the St. Michael Elevator Fund and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
