2016 Relay For Life: Just 18 More Days

By Rebecca Ruehl

Can you believe Relay for Life is just 18 days away? That’s right, we’re deep into Relay Season and here are some deadlines you need to be aware of.

Need a “Paint the Town Purple” bow for your loved one who has had cancer? The deadline is April 23. You can contact your local town hall, call Palma Stiegman at 327-8676 or take your order to the Farmers & Merchants Bank or the Washington County Hospital. Both groups have a team and would be happy to help you.

Need a luminaria for your loved one? The deadline for those is April 30. See above for ordering information.

Interested in going to the Survivor’s Luncheon? It’s Sunday May 1st at noon in the Trinity Lutheran Church basement. Contact Marilyn Taylor at 327-8702 or Tricia Schill at 327-9439 for more information. If the time gets away from you, walk-ins are more than welcome. It’s a great opportunity to meet other survivors like yourself, eat a (free) meal and hear some great local entertainment.

Relay for Life is Saturday, May 7 at the NCHS track. Opening ceremonies begin at 4pm with the Luminaria Ceremony starting at 8:30pm. The evening ends at 10pm so make plans to stay for the evening.
