Mrs. Leona (Janowski) Wachowski, of Radom, departed this life at Fireside House of Centralia, on Sunday, April 24, 2016. She had attained the age of 95 years, 8 months and 9 days.

Mrs. Wachowski was born on August 15, 1920 at Radom, the daughter of Edward and Helen (Zienta) Janowski. She was united in marriage to Edwin Wachowski on June 5, 1943 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Radom, IL and he preceded her in death on September 22, 2008.

Leona was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed her flower garden, quilting and supporting her church. She was a wonderful homemaker and #1 fan of her husband’s “Edwin’s Polka Music”. She was always by his side, whether he was farming or entertaining, she devoted her life to her family and friends.

Left to mourn her passing are her three children, Larry Wachowski of Radom, Carol Adolph and husband Mark of Tucson, AZ, Rose Ann McDonnell and husband Gerry of St. Charles; four grandchildren, Jacqui Darovec, Darien Darovec, Rachel Adolph and Shannon McDonnell; a brother, Louis Janowski and wife Helen; three sisters, Irene Luchinski, Loretta Pedtke and Viola Hambel; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Ray and Walter Janowski and a sister, Rose Mary Naliborski.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 10 AM with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu officiating and with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom on Saturday from 9 AM until the service hour.

Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials may be made to the St. Michael Catholic Church and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
