Record Setting Numbers For The 11th Annual 5K “Walk With the Dogs”
The 11th Annual 5K “Walk With the Dogs” has record setting numbers this year!!
So look for the Purple Warriors and their 4-legged companions to hit the streets of Nashville on Saturday, June 4 to raise awareness and funding for Pancreatic Cancer.
The event begins at 7:30 am at Memorial Park. If you missed the deadline, you can still do same day sign up through that morning (though T-shirt size may not be guaranteed).
The entry is $20 and there will be a Raffle/Silent Auction following the 5K. Four Disney Day Hopper Passes donated by Walt Disney World are always a wanted item!
Great strides are being made in the field of Pancreatic Cancer. Survival rates have increased 1% over last year, but it is events such as this that provide those amazing scientists in the labs with the funding to help us find early detection methods and treatment options for this disease!
Records have also been set this year with the number of Teams Walking and doing their own fundraising. This year there will be 18 Teams working hard to raise awareness.
This year we lost Nashville residents Arlen White and Jack Brooks III to Pancreatic Cancer and this year “Arlen’s Angels” and “Fishing For a Cure, Don’t Bow Out” Teams in their honor will be joining the fight!
The Walk will begin with the traditional Purple Balloon Tribute and Release to those loved ones who have lost their battle to this disease and this year we will be honoring 43 loved ones! That is WAY too many and that is why this fight continues!
