Zion recognized the following graduates in worship: Riley Edwards, Jakob Szabelski, and Alyssa Thompson.
Congratulations to Merrill and Marilyn Kirchhoefer on their 70th wedding anniversary. The Kirchhoefer’s now live in Waterloo. Marilyn grew up in Addieville.
Dean and Jennifer Richards and sons Bryce and Brody from Colorado were out visiting his sisters, brother and friends. It was good to see them since it has been three years since they were here last.
Karla Dingwerth, Bennett and Emmerson were out visiting her mother/grandma Janet Wulf and attended the graduation of niece/cousin Kendall Lintker from West Washington County High School.
Paul and Esther Grattendick spent several days in Branson visiting with friends. They enjoyed “Moses” at the Sight and Sound Theatre.
Several area people enjoyed the Lee Greenwood Concert at Kaskaskia College, Centralia on Saturday evening.
Walter Rybacki died last Friday. Walter was a pleasant man. He was Addieville’s village street commissioner for many years. Our sympathy to his wife Marie and his family.
This writer wants to acknowledge her former boss Bill Windler who died last Monday after a brief illness of two months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Bill was a good man. He was faithful to his Lord and Savior, family, friends and served many. He will be greatly missed.
Also Gary Hongsermeier who recently died will be missed by family, friends and community. He also did a lot of volunteering.
This coming weekend is Memorial Day weekend. Zion will be observing Memorial Sunday, remembering those who have given their life for our nation.
